IPL Skin Rejuvenation
IPL (Intense Pulse Light) Skin Rejuvenation is a non-invasive procedure that offers the benefit of improving skin tone and surface imperfections associated with aging and photodamage. IPL is ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots.
Patients may experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation with each pulse of light; however, anesthesia or pain medication is typically not needed. Most treatments require an hour or less of time spent in any of our four Cascade Cosmetic Center locations.
What to Expect
Immediately following a treatment of IPL, you may experience mild swelling, the brown spots will begin to darken and your skin may appear slightly red on the treated area. This typically lasts from a few hours to a day or more. The darkened spots will flake off and fade in one to three weeks. Redness and telangiectasia will decrease, resulting in a more even skin color and clarity.
Treatment
Gradual improvement is typically achieved in five treatment sessions, usually spaced one month apart. New brown spots, telangiectasia and redness may appear with new sun exposure, which can also be treated. Prevention of future sun damage should be practiced with daily broad-spectrum sunscreen use and protective measures (use of a hat or umbrella and seeking shade) while outdoors.
A consultation is required to determine if IPL Skin Rejuvenation is the appropriate procedure for your skin indication.
