Dr. Johnson knew in high school that he wanted to go into medicine. He chose a specialty in optometry driven by his desire to help people in the way we interact most with our world – visually. Whether by simply prescribing glasses or managing chronic conditions to reduce the risk of vision loss, Dr. Johnson is proud to help his patients see the world more clearly.
Taking an active role in the optometry community, Dr. Johnson is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society, Optometric Physicians of Washington, and the American Optometric Student Association.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA, before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry, Forest Grove, OR. He then completed his residency at Pacific University College of Optometry at Puget Sound VA, American Lake Division, Tacoma, WA.
Dr. Johnson grew up in the Puyallup area, just down the road from one of Cascade Eye & Skin Centers’ surgical centers. He finds himself lucky enough to have maintained life-long connections with his high school friends.
Patients in the area may see Dr. Johnson and his wife mountain biking, hiking, enjoying live music and playing tabletop games. He and his wife are proud to be expecting a baby girl in July 2022!
