Dr. Chen is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea specialist, focusing on the medical and surgical management of corneal conditions.
She performs cornea transplant surgery, including cutting-edge procedures such as ultra-thin DSAEK and DMEK. Dr. Chen also specializes in cataract surgery, anterior segment and ocular surface reconstruction, and refractive surgery including LASIK, PRK, and phototherapeutic keratectomy. In addition to seeing cornea patients, Dr. Chen also provides comprehensive eye care services.
Dr. Chen is committed to providing outstanding and compassionate eye care to her patients. She believes in a personalized approach, offering state-of-the-art treatment while regarding each individual with empathy and dignity in order to deliver the highest level of patient-centered care.
Dr. Chen received her B.S. in biology with distinction from Duke University, graduating summa cum laude. She then earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Following an internship in internal medicine at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Dr. Chen completed her ophthalmology residency at Stanford University, where she remained for a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery. After her training, Dr. Chen joined the faculty at Stanford University, providing care to patients in addition to teaching residents. Dr. Chen is excited to bring the skills, knowledge, and experience gained from working at these academic institutions to her clinical practice at Cascade Eye & Skin Centers.
Outside of work, Dr. Chen enjoys traveling, cooking, adventurous eating, reading, and spending time outdoors with her family.
