Mackenzie Schumann is a board-certified nurse practitioner with a specialty in dermatology. She began her healthcare career after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2014. Mackenzie spent five years working in the ICU at a large hospital system in Arizona before pursuing her graduate degree, which she completed at the University of Phoenix in 2020 and became board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
She went on to complete a one-year dermatology fellowship at a private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona and obtained her board certification in dermatology (DCNP) in 2023. Mackenzie’s personal experience with psoriasis as a child fueled her passion for dermatology, and she is committed to helping patients feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. She practiced in Arizona for 3 years before she moved to Colorado where she has resided prior to relocating to Washington.
In addition to clinical practice, Mackenzie is dedicated to education. She served as adjunct clinical faculty at Arizona State University for their undergraduate nursing program and enjoys mentoring and training advanced practice providers who are new to the field of dermatology.
Outside of work, Mackenzie loves exploring new places, trying out local restaurants, and spending time with her husband and their three dogs. She is also passionate about foster care advocacy and volunteers as a mentor for youth in the foster care system.
