Nikhil Godbole, D.O. is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology with an interest in Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Godbole received his undergraduate degree from Siena College in upstate New York. He earned his Medical Degree on full scholarship from the West Virginia School Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and Ophthalmology residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Godbole was honorably discharged from the United States Army after eight years of service at the rank of Major. Dr. Godbole is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and he has experience as a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist at the only Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center as well as the largest Refractive Surgery Center in the Department of Defense. He served as faculty at the San Antonio Uniformed Health Science Education Consortium Ophthalmology residency, where he was named Surgical Educator of the year for 2020. Dr. Godbole has an interest in humanitarian work and has participated in missions to Panama.
Dr. Godbole performs advanced techniques in refractive cataract surgery and specializes in Advanced Technology Intraocular Lenses. He also specializes in the surgical management of astigmatism correction at the time of cataract surgery and he performs Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) for patients with mild to moderate glaucoma or patients intolerant to their glaucoma eye drops.
Dr. Godbole also performs laser vision correction surgery for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. He is certified in multiple laser platforms and has been trained to perform ReLEX SMILE, LASIK and PRK.
Dr. Godbole has an interest in medical retina and has been managing diabetic eye disease and the Wet form of Macular degeneration with specialized intravitreal medications and retinal laser called PRP.
In addition to medical Ophthalmology he enjoys performing cosmetic eyelid and brow surgery, including Blepharoplasty and Brow lifts. He also enjoys offering Botox injections for his patients.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Godbole played Division 1 tennis for his university and was a tennis instructor for 10 years and coached high school tennis during medical school. He enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his family.
