Dr. Tyler Coolman is a board certified dermatologist who practices general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Born and raised in Colorado, Dr. Coolman headed to the Northeast for his undergraduate degree. He swam competitively with Colgate University’s NCAA Division I swimming team while completing a double major in Molecular Biology and Spanish. Subsequently, he obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) at Dartmouth. Before attending medical school, he worked as a data analyst, crunching numbers behind the scenes to support various healthcare access and quality improvement programs. Realizing he desired a more personal connection with patients, Dr. Coolman attended medical school at A.T. Still – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri, where he was in the top quartile of his class. He then completed dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Ohio. He focused his residency training on complex medical dermatology, including autoimmune blistering diseases and psoriasis. Dr. Coolman has published numerous articles in medical journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Coolman strives to provide excellent clinical care by incorporating the most up-to-date advancements in diagnosis and treatment with a personal approach. He believes the most important part of his job is learning about each patient as an individual so that he can engage the patient in the decision-making process and comprehensively address all skin care needs.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Coolman enjoys spending time with his wife and two large poodle mixes, a labradoodle and newfypoo. Usually this entails getting outside with them to enjoy the Pacific Northwest via hiking, power boating, and skiing/snowboarding. He is also an avid reader of fantasy and science fiction.
