  • Before attending medical school, he worked as a data analyst, crunching numbers behind the scenes to support various healthcare access and quality improvement programs. Realizing he desired a more personal connection with patients.

Medical Degree: A.T. Still – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Missouri

  • Dr. Coolman was in the top quartile of his class

Residency: Dermatology, Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, Ohio

  • He focused his residency training on complex medical dermatology, including autoimmune blistering diseases and psoriasis.
  • Dr. Coolman has published numerous articles in medical journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Personal Life & Interests

  • Dr. Coolman enjoys spending time with his wife and two large poodle mixes, a labradoodle and newfypoo.
  • Enjoys going outdoors and exploring the Pacific Northwest via hiking, power boating, and skiing/snowboarding.
  • He is also an avid reader of fantasy and science fiction.

Approach to Patient Care

Dr. Coolman strives to provide excellent clinical care by incorporating the most up-to-date advancements in diagnosis and treatment with a personal approach. He believes the most important part of his job is learning about each patient as an individual so that he can engage the patient in the decision-making process and comprehensively address all skin care needs.
