IPL, BBL & Foto facial
Lasers are one of the most convenient and effective anti-aging solutions available. The dermatologists of Cascade Eye & Skin Centers require that each laser operated in the practice undergo a rigorous research period, proving its effectiveness before offering it as a service to our patients.
IPL & BBL Skin Rejuvenation
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and BBL (BroadBand Light) Skin Rejuvenation are non-invasive procedures that improve skin tone and surface imperfections associated with aging and photodamage. IPL and BBL are ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots.
Patients may experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation with each pulse of light; however, anesthesia or pain medication is typically not needed. Most treatments require an hour or less of time spent in any of our Cascade Aesthetics Center locations.
What to Expect
Immediately following a treatment of IPL or BBL, you may experience mild swelling, the brown spots will begin to darken, and your skin may appear slightly red on the treated area. This typically lasts from a few hours to a day or more. The darkened spots will flake off and fade in one to three weeks. Redness and telangiectasia will decrease, resulting in a more even skin color and clarity.

Treatment
Gradual improvement is typically achieved in five treatment sessions, usually spaced one month apart. New brown spots, telangiectasia and redness may appear with new sun exposure, which can also be treated. Prevention of future sun damage should be practiced with daily broad-spectrum sunscreen use and protective measures (use of a hat or umbrella and seeking shade) while outdoors.
A consultation is required to determine if IPL or BBL is the appropriate procedure for your skin.
Advanced IPL with Stellar M22
At select locations, Cascade Eye & Skin Centers uses the Stellar M22 by Lumenis, an advanced IPL system that delivers safe, effective treatment for a wider range of skin tones than traditional IPL technology. It delivers comfortable treatments with visible results across all skin types, including Fitzpatrick skin types IV and V.
